Spray Paint Workshop with Mural Artist, David Swartz

During Art Week in June 2025, Fort Collins Mural Project (FCMP), in partnership with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), hosted a spray paint workshop designed to support local artists in exploring or refining a new medium to grow their creative careers.

Denver-based artist and muralist David Swartz led the session, spending the first hour thoughtfully answering questions from participating artists. He then guided them through a hands-on, 3 hour painting experience. The workshop culminated in the creation of a collaboratively painted mural on the 720 E Vine building, home to local nonprofit organization the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program and Fort Collins’ local theater set production space.

David Swartz is known for his vivid, large-scale works that incorporate animals, bold color, and dynamic movement. His murals explore emotional narratives—often with a touch of humor—and aim to reflect shared human experiences, inspiring connection and empathy over division.
