Mural Painting & Collage with Artist, Imani Samuel.
As part of the 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration—presented by CSU, Poudre Libraries, and Poudre School District—local artist Imani Samuel created a powerful and collaborative mural experience. Drawing inspiration from Dr. King’s quotes and writings contributed by PSD students, Imani crafted a piece that invited community members to reflect, connect, and express themselves through art.
Based in Fort Collins, Imani Samuel is an active presence in the local arts scene. She’s known for her whimsical, heartfelt work using gouache, colored pencil, and just a touch of magic. You might recognize her from the Gateway Mural Project or from local events where she frequently shares her art.
“There’s nothing like imagining something and being able to create it out of nothing. And there’s nothing like giving others the chance to dream — to allow themselves to dive into their imagination.”
— Imani Samuel
