What is a DAF?

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible way to support charitable causes. It works like a charitable investment account: you contribute money or assets to the fund, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants from the fund to qualified nonprofits at any time in the future. The sponsoring organization (often a community foundation or financial institution) manages the fund’s investments and handles all recordkeeping and compliance. This allows donors to be strategic with their giving—supporting causes they care about now or building charitable resources for future impact.

How do I give through a DAF?

1. Recommend a grant from your DAF through your fund administrator

You can recommend a gift by contacting your fund administrator, or by logging into your fund and granting online. Some funds are listed above.

2. Set up recurring grants from your DAF

You can set up recurring grants to help sustain the mission of The Fort COllins Mural Project. This can be done online or by contacting your fund administrator. You can choose how frequently the automated grants will occur.
